Wayne Jones

Wayne Jones, age 77, of West Point, Georgia, better known as Chili, Dirty Red, Taxi Red, and

the West Point Encyclopedia, was born to Willie Hill and Mary L. Jones on November 29,1948.

He peacefully departed this life on August 20, 2026.

He was a graduate of the Harrison High School Class of 1967 and later graduated from West

Georgia Tech. Wayne was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Wayne got along

with everybody, knew everything about traveling like a road map, knew all of West Point history,

and could tell you about anybody and everybody's family. He could tell you everything, then and

now. If you wanted to know how to get somewhere or if you needed to know somebody or

remember their name, just ask Wayne.

.Wayne served in the United States Army. He worked at West Point Wholesale, West Point

Pepperell, and West Point Peabody. When he was younger, he worked at Whitley Restaurant.

He retired from West Point Foundry after many years of service. Mr. Jones was in the workforce

for 60 years.
